Restrictions for young drivers in Tasmania

Supervising drivers must hold a full licence and are subject to the same blood alcohol requirements as if they were driving the vehicle (under 0.05)

L2 must not drive over 90km/h in 100km/h zone and 100km/h in 110km/h zone
L1 minimum 3 months
L2 minimum 9 months
15 years 11 months sit knowledge test
16 years apply for learner permit
Must not drive over 90km/h in 100km/h zone, 100km/h in 110km/h zone 12 months Minimum 17 years
Not required to display P2 plate
Must drive within the speed limit 24 months

Plates can be displayed interior or exterior but must be clearly visible
